Tom Corr, the Mill's original miller will be your tour guide. Tom will greet you and give you a short introduction to the Cavan Water Mill and its history.
You will then begin a guided tour of our museum, its artefacts and the restored mill. Feel the stillness within this once very busy and noisy place. You will be shown the stages of the oat milling process, as it was done 170 years ago. View the grain intake, drying room, hopper room, milling stones, kiln room, mill race, turbine, gear room and flour room.
Throughout your tour, your guide and visual information points will give you a rich understanding of this unique visitor experience.
Tours take approximately 60 minutes.
